I fished the Marietta area again today, near Donegal (riverfront park). The water is still very stained, couldn't see much past a foot from the surface. I fished for bass but had only a few small ones. around 11am I get a hard hit and the battle is on. Nice channel cat hit the crankbait. He gave me a good fight on the light rod and 6lb. test. Too much fun, he made my day.

12 Aug 2017 - City Island 8/11/17

My friend Steve and I launched at 6:30 AM and ran straight up to the ledge above I 81.  The gauge at Harrisburg was at 4.09 feet.  The water was still pretty stained and 77.5 degrees.  We fished  near the east side for a half hour without a strike so we moved over about 2/3 and found the water to be less stained but after about 45 min. and still no strikes we started to drift.  About half way to 81 we caught few down to the bridge.  After that I ran down to the Riverfront View Apts. Where we started to catch a few while bouncing off the rocks.  What a difference between 4.3 feet and 4.09 feet. We made three drifts through there and packed it in.

We ended the day with Steve boating 11 while I landed a meager 3, all on soft jerk baits.  I always seem to be out fished by my guest but at least I always catch the biggest one.  The pics are each of our best.
